GC8 MULTIguard (Anticorrision Paper)Characteristics
VCI-anticorrosion paper MULTIguard constantly provides small amount
of active anticorrosion ingredients (the VCI principle: Volatile
Corrosion Inhibitor.) In packages made with this paper, a
protecting atmosphere is built up, which reliably prevents
corrosion of metal parts. MULTIguard papers work both in contact
and from a distance. Scope of protection
Steel, cast iron (only on contact), zinc, copper, chrome, bronze,
brass, pure aluminium, pure tin. Care to be taken with cadmium,
lead, soldering tin, magnesium, wolfram and molybdenum.For
demanding application, e. g. protection of cast iron, we recommend
our BRANOrost anticorrosion paper. Duration of protection: 12
months for cast, and 18 months for steel, iron and non-ferrous
metals.Application
Metal parts which should be protected from corrosion during
production, shipping and storage can be packaged in MULTIguard
papers (e. g. simply wrap the metal parts with MULTIguard papers,
line the container, interleavings). The distance between MULTIguard
papers and metal depends on the package volume and the time
permitted for a protecting atmosphere to build up. A rule of thumb:
for steel, a full protection is achieved at a distance of 30 cm
after 15 minutes, for copper and alloy, at 12 cm and after 24
hours. Cast iron is only protected on contact. The airtighter the
package, the longer the protection will last.It is not necessary to
oil or to grease. Metal parts are ready for use any time without
cleaning, because this system provides corrosion protection and
simple, environmentally-friendly handling in one. The metal is
clean and dry to package.MULTIguard-VCI-products are to be used as
described above (packaging/protection of certain kinds of metal
pieces). Other-wise, no responsibility for caused damages can be

Waste Disposal Key 18716. MULTIguard is recyclable. It is marked
with the recycling symbol. Since the thermal value is > 11,000
kJ/kg the material may be introduced into an energy recovery
process. If burning is neither technically possible nor feasible,
the material may be disposed of or burnt with domestic waste
according to local authority regulations.Work safety
MULTIguard is not a hazardous formulation as defined in the
hazardous substance regulations. It should be handled in a
well-ventilated space; one should not eat or drink while working
with it, nor should foods be stored in the work area where it is
used, and the hands and face should be washed after use. Further
